These Skips Don't Lie ("we," "us," or "our") is a habit-tracking app that helps you log impulse purchases you've resisted and build better spending habits over time. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use the app, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Habits you define (name, typical cost, frequency)
- Skips you log (item name, amount, timestamp)
- Savings goals you set (name, target amount, deadline)
- App preferences such as theme and notification settings
How We Use Your Information
We use your data exclusively to operate and improve the app:
- Display your skip history, streaks, and progress toward goals
- Show your activity in the Friends feed to other users you're connected with
- Send optional push notifications (daily reminders, weekly summaries, goal alerts)
- Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising.
Social Features
The app includes a social feed where friends can see your skip activity — including the item name, amount, and timestamp of your logged skips. Your streak count may also be visible to friends. By using the app's social features, you consent to this information being visible to users you invite or who invite you.
You can stop participating in the social feed at any time by not connecting with other users.
Data Storage & Third Parties
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except as required by law.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your personal data — including your profile, habits, skips, and goals — is permanently deleted within 30 days. This cannot be undone.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Opt out of push notifications at any time in Settings or your device's notification preferences
Children
This app is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
